Congratulations on your engagement. An amazing time for you and your partner. One thing is probably for certain, you’re going to be spending quite a bit of time researching lots of different wedding venues – I say probably because I know quite a few brides who knew their venue before they even met their future husbands.
As a wedding photographer of almost 13 years, I am lucky to have visited and photographed so many weddings at amazing venues all over Lancashire, Liverpool, Manchester, the Lake District and many more further out.
Below is a selection of venues that I regularly photograph weddings at each year. I love going back. Each wedding is unique and every day is different. Not just the people, or the style but the time of year, the weather can all make a venue look so different for photographs.
Equally, I can’t wait to visit new (to me) venues or places I rarely go to. With so many wedding venues in northern England it’s impossible to have been to them all, even photographing 35 – 40 weddings per year and after 12 years!
Knowing and understanding light and how to best use it on any given day, especially with our changeable weather means I don’t need to know where the best areas of a venue are – I can walk around beforehand to see that.
Any venue will look and photograph very differently from one day to the next, or even from one hour to the next, which is why this is such an important skill to look for when choosing your photographer.
