Stacey and Sarah’s Story

What a superb Broadoaks Country House Wedding. Being honest superb is not enough, it was amazing, excellent, astonishing, outstanding, phenomenal, awesome, brilliant, cool, fabulous, fantastic, incredible, magnificent, marvellous, remarkable, sensational.

Stacey and Sarah’s story is a fantastic one. Christmas is their favourite time of the year hence booking their wedding during this time. Silvers and greys were chosen which fits into a winter wonderland style. Broadoaks was decorated with Christmas decorations and with the addition of baubles, silvers, and pinecones was just perfect.

Purple Swan set up for the ceremony with white chair covers and grey bow with 2 pinecones tied into them and a runner down the aisle. Broadoaks then set up for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. A winter garland down the middle of the rectangle tables, with silvers baubles, lots of led lights and pinecones.

An engagement in the Lake district with Stacey asking Sarah to marry her with a scratch card whilst watching Charlie and the chocolate factory. There was a different plan, but this way was more of them. Sarah is not one for attention, so something public was not the way to go. A short search for wedding venues was when they found Broadoaks by accident but instantly fell in love (as most do). The style, the log fire and you can have complete exclusive access for 48hrs was a winner, and that’s before mentioning that it’s extremely dog friendly. Who wants to go on holiday without their dogs?

Brackens of Bowness provided some extremely pretty bouquets and buttonholes, a grey, white with pinecone design with white roses.

A perfect Mary’s Bridal gown with a cape from Wedding Belles Bridal Boutique was chosen. Very fitting with the theme and even had a hint of the film ‘frozen’ due to the sparkles.

Sarah had a tailor-made suit of grey, with a white shirt.

One bridesmaid wore the same suit as the two best men, with the three other bridesmaids wearing long grey dresses. Two pretty little flower girls in white dresses completed the bridal party.

Wren Cake Design created a winter themed masterpiece. A cute design of winter pinecone with silver sparkle, green livery, and a fab Mrs and Mrs topper which includes a silhouette of a dog.

During the day and night there were various forms of music. Stacey’s band, Middleton bras band played for the ceremony, with pianist Alice Gasson taking over for the drinks and then wedding breakfast.

Later, Ryan Smith wedding host was on hand to host the evening session with guitarist Steve Heath. Both guys are superb and entertained the happy couple and their guests keeping the dance floor full.

During the evening, Broadoaks had provided a set of sparklers and a couple of fountain fireworks for the guests. A couple of lights behind the guests ensured that an atmosphere was created with the smoke from the sparklers before the fountains were set off next to the water fountain.

A hugely magnificent wedding day: thanks Sarah and Stacey for having me and thank you to Mel, Stelian, and all the lovely staff at the Broadoaks Country House Hotel.
