Natasha and Nicolas’ Story
Natasha and Nicolas’ wedding day at Merrydale Manor was nothing short of magical. Despite the rain interruption, the day was filled with warmth, love, and a hint of fun. As the photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing some of the most special moments of the day, including the confetti moment, which was accompanied by a downpour of rain, making it even more unforgettable. Oh, and a double rainbow popped up during the wedding breakfast.
The Proposal: Loch Earn in Scotland
Natasha and Nicolas got engaged on August 28, 2021, at Loch Earn in Scotland. The couple was spending a bank holiday weekend in a lovely log cabin, enjoying each other’s company. Nicolas proposed on their first evening, after a 2-hour hike up the hills by the loch. They reached the top at sunset, and Nicolas got down on one knee, surprising Natasha with the most stunning view of the lake and the beautiful sunset sky.
Why Merrydale Manor?
The couple fell in love with Merrydale Manor, a beautiful manor house and grounds, for its elegance, sophisticated but homely feel, and friendly and warm team. They wanted a private and exclusive venue that could accommodate all their needs and found that Merrydale Manor ticked all the boxes. Sam who is the wedding coordinator runs a perfect ship.
The Classic, Romantic and Elegant Style
The couple chose a classic, romantic, and elegant style for their wedding day, which was reflected in their subtle colour scheme of ivory/whites, blush, dusty pink, rose gold, and green foliage.

Details, Details, Details
The bridal party looked stunning, with Natasha wearing an ivory A-line gown called Jasmine, designed by Gaia Bridal, and Nicolas wearing a black tux from Moss Bros. Natasha’s bridesmaids wore rose gold shimmery maxi dresses, while the groomsmen wore matching tuxedos from Moss Bros. The couple travelled in style in a vintage gold and cream Bentley, and the guests were transported from Crewe Hall to Merrydale Manor in a hired coach from ABC Coaches.
The Little Things That Matter
The flowers, provided by Ewer-Roberts Flowers, were exquisite, with fresh flowers adorning the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony/top table flowers, floral centrepieces with storm lanterns and tapered candles, and a broken floral arch for the ceremony. The couple gave their guests little jars of Canadian maple syrup and Indian mango pickle at the Merrydale wedding breakfast to represent their two cultural backgrounds.

Entertainment that Touched the Heart
The couple’s love for music was reflected in their choice of entertainment. Their musician friends, Georgia Morse (cello) and George Fradley (piano), played for their ceremony, and Gypsyland Jazz (5-piece live band), also known as The String Beans, entertained guests at the wedding reception.
Special Touches that Made the Day Unforgettable
The couple added some unique and personal touches to their wedding day, including an informal concert, an audio guestbook, a surprise band reveal, and table names that were all named after their favourite operas, with stories and facts to accompany them.

The Double Rainbow
One of the most beautiful and magical moments of Natasha and Nicolas’ wedding day was the double rainbow, a surprise that made the day even more special.
Thank you, Natasha and Nicolas, for letting me be a part of your special day. It was a pleasure to capture your love for each other and the warmth and happiness that surrounded you.
And thank you, Sam, and the team at Merrydale Manor, for being the perfect host and backdrop for this magical day.
I hope you enjoy the video……
Paul.
