Liz and Lee’s Story
A laugh a minute! This is the best way to describe Elizabeth and Lee’s wedding at picture perfect Broadoaks Country House.
Liz and Lee love the Lake District and wanted a venue that they could have exclusive use, and then finding out you can have 2 days use of Broadoaks really was a dream. The most magical place, for 2 days!
I’ve written about Broadoaks so many times I won’t repeat anything here except to say Vicky and her team were absolutely amazing as always.
A quite engagement back in 2021 was the start of the wedding preparations for Liz and Lee……. They were having a drink together, talking about places they’d love to visit together. Barbados popped up and it was agreed that would be their honeymoon – not yet engaged, they both said, let’s get married then……. And here we are.
Since then, Liz and Lee booked and planned their wedding at Broadoaks. No specific style, just simple understated natural greens, and whites. The bridesmaid’s dresses, along with Lee’s tie and pocket square being a neutral beige and a hint of dusky pink.
Liz chose a dress for the time of year from Samantha’s boutique. She loved it so much she cancelled her appointments at other shops. What fun we had getting Liz into the dress.

Lee chose a moss bros suit for him and his best man. Navy with a feint check through.
The 2 bridesmaids have the same from Joys Bella bridesmaids – a neutral beige and a hint of dusky pink.
Clare of Beloved Bridal Hair, a close friend of mine took care of hairstyling. Clare is a real master of hair, a great laugh, and if you need help with getting ready she’s your lady!
Makeup was taken care of by Jaye Adams, a talented makeup artist (and photographer) from the Lake District. A natural look to last the entire day.

Bluebell and Ivy provided the florals for the day, lots of white flowers including roses, with green foliage and eucalyptus. They spelt divine!
A family friend created a 2 tier naked carrot and lemon cake with a topper of a bride and groom with a Labrador to incorporate their gorgeous Labrador, Betsy.
Something a little different for the evening was a nostalgia Jukebox from Timewarp. Full of music from the 50’s onwards meant guests could simply select whatever they want. Plenty to keep 32 people entertained. Plus, the jukebox looks fantastic too.
A phenomenal wedding day; thanks Liz and Lee for having me and thank you to Vicky and your amazing staff at Broadoaks Country House.
Here’s the wedding team in a list.
