Planning your wedding is no easy task. From choosing your venue, your dress, the suits, who will be bridesmaids, best man, the cake, will it be chicken or beef, all way right down to the little details of which font will go onto the place cards for the table plan!

I like to send out a few questions to my brides and grooms about a month before the big day to get to know them a little and to find out which lovely suppliers they’ve asked to help make their day so special.

Sophia and Lee tied the knot at the historic and super stylish Swan Hotel located on the banks of the River Leven. An absolutely stunning setting and for any wedding on any day.

This was a day filled with so many happy moments, fun with lots and lots of laughter. Here are the details of planning and suppliers that made their day so special.

Where and when did you get engaged? Tell me what happened?

In Brussels on New Years Eve, also my birthday. In a seafood restaurant, Lee hid the ring under my napkin.

Why did you choose your wedding date?

We wanted a summer wedding and the date worked for my sister’s kids term dates (they live in Australia).

Why did you choose your venue?

Lake District was the first trip away we had together. We love the smart yet cosy feel of the swan.

What is your wedding colour scheme?

Rustic theme really, greenery quite laid back.

What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from? Why did you choose it?

I hate shopping so got the first one I liked from Wed2Be

What has your partner chosen to wear?

Blue suit from Kendals.

What are your bridesmaids/ groomsmen going to wear and where from?

1 adult bridesmaid in grey/silver dress. 4 flower girls in cream/blush pink dresses. Best man in same suit as Lee

How will you travel on the day? If the transport is hired, where is it from?

We’re staying in the hotel the night before.

What flowers have you chosen, if any? Who is providing them?

Grey/Silver, jersey and blush pink, cream and blush pink flowers, Bluebell and Ivy providing. Table flowers are rustic jars of flowers. Button holes x8 for male family members. Bouquets for me, bridesmaid and flower girls. Ladies corsage for mother of the bride

What flowers and decorations have you chosen for the wedding reception? Who is providing them or helping you?

As above.

Are you giving out favours? If so, what?

Mini bottles of Prosecco for adults and local gingerbread for the children

What cake have you chosen? Who is making it?

2 tier semi naked sponge cake, berries and greenery for decoration and Mr and Mrs Mageean and date topper. Sugar Pie are making it

Who have you chosen for beauty (Makeup and Hair)

Dorota Poplawska. Friend from previous work place is doing hair and make up.

What food/ wines have you choose? Why?

Salmon, Lamb and sticky toffee pudding and lots of wine because we love both!

What entertainment have you chosen?

Dj Andrew Richardson, you recommended him!
