Planning your wedding is no easy task. From choosing your venue, your dress, the suits, who will be bridesmaids, best man, the cake, will it be chicken or beef, all way right down to the little details of which font will go onto the place cards for the table plan!

I like to send out a few questions to my brides and grooms about a month before the big day to get to know them a little and to find out which lovely suppliers they’ve asked to help make their day so special.

Laura and Will tied the knot at the The Sacred Heart Church in Preston before moving onto the beautiful boutique wedding venue Charnock Farm. A beautiful family run wedding venue set in pretty countryside. A stunning barn for the celebration, a dedicated bridal preparation room in a gorgeous setting. The pond is full of friendly ducks and fish before I even mention the donkeys.

This was a day filled with so many happy moments, fun with lots and lots of laughter.

Laura:

I cannot recommend Charnock Farm enough! They gave us the wedding that we dreamed of! My vintage, shabby chic dreams all came true!! Also, Carly’s hair creations for my gorgeous do (and bridesmaids!). Lydia Sage make up to make us look a whole less sweaty

Here’s Laura and Will’s story…….

Where and when did you get engaged? Tell me what happened?

On My (Laura’s 21st birthday) in my bedroom. Will had planned to do it at my 21st party but knew something more intimate was more ‘us’. He had asked my mum for permission and she was waiting patiently downstairs!

Why did you choose your wedding date?

We wanted a Summer wedding (6 weeks off for Teachers!).

Why did you choose your venue?

The only venue we LOVED. It is extremely us, quirky and unique.

Do you have a special “theme”/ style for your wedding? Why did you pick this theme/ style?

Rustic and ‘crafty’. I love making things and putting my own stamp on things. Wanted a Wedding that reflected this.

What is your wedding colour scheme?

Summer colours/ favourite colours. Love purple and everything in our house is grey!

What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from? Why did you choose it?

Dress- Brides at Charnock Farm. Won a competition to have £250 off a dress. Went their first and fell in love with the dress.

What has your partner chosen to wear?

Will is wearing suit from Slaters. Top hat and tails as we are being traditional. Will loves a hat!

What are your bridesmaids/ groomsmen going to wear and where from?

Groomsmen suits also from Slaters. Bridesmaids are wearing multiwear dresses from Marks and Spencers (sale). To reflect the individuality of my bridesmaids. All will look beautiful.

How will you travel on the day? If the transport is hired, where is it from?

Family favour! Rolls Royce and Range Rover.

What flowers have you chosen, if any? Who is providing them?

Grey roses- unique and quirky to match the theme! From Sophie’s Flower Pot. She is so friendly and ace!

What flowers and decorations have you chosen for the wedding reception? Who is providing them or helping you?

Sophie’s Flower Pot and myself. I am making some bits and bobs to show my crafty side.

Are you giving out favours? If so, what?

Cupcakes! Everyone loves cake. Also doubles up as name card- having them loving made by Tanya’s Baking!

What cake have you chosen? Who is making it?

Tanya’s Baking, who saved us at the last minute. Sue to sickness our planned cake maker could not deliver.

Who have you chosen for beauty (Makeup and Hair)

Lydia Sage- Make up. She is fairly new to Weddings. Really wanted to support local and new people. Hair- Carly’s Hair Creations. Carly does my hair already and wouldn’t trust anyone else! She is amazing and so lucky I booked her well in advance!

What food/ wines have you choose? Why?

Cheap and cheerful- crowd pleasers!

What entertainment have you chosen?

Charnock Farm DJ and MB Vocals to sing.

What other “special touches” have you added to your day?

My brother Matthew is giving me away. This was a decision that was easy for me to make. Whenever I need help or guidance, he would be the man in my life I would ask. He has always been a fabulous big brother and feel it is right that he gives me away. He has truly always looked after me, my mum and sister. We act like we don’t care- but we do!
