Megan and Curtis’ Story
Megan and Curtis had their summer afternoon wedding day in beautiful sunshine with close family and friends in their local park, Mesnes Park, Wigan.
I’ve visited this park since I can remember. I grew up in Wigan and this park is fantastic and still very Victorian. It’s also my 3rd wedding in the park too. Megan and Curtis chose the park as the lodge is simple, intimate, and perfect for them. You’ve then got the fantastic gardens to use for your photos. After the park, the celebration was at Summat to Ate in their hometown, Hindley (part of Wigan). A simply fabulous steak restaurant. Again, I’ve worked and eaten here previously, and the steaks are very good. Megan and Curtis enjoy a steak from here and it’s literally 20 seconds from their doorstep, so fitted perfectly with their needs.
Megan chose her dress from Wed2Be in Bolton (they have lots of outlets across the country). She says she is not a girly girl but when she tried it on, she quite liked it and thought, this one will do 😂, though she did say she’s quite excited to put it back on. It’s complemented by a pair of converse trainers.

Curtis went for a royal ascot kind of vibe. Top hat and ‘pimp stick’. It sounded a bit odd but looked great. Walking through the Victorian park, it really fit in, very period of the local gentry. The Jacket is from New Look, the trousers & waistcoat from Debenhams, the shoes from Clarks, the shirt from Slater Menswear, the tie from eBay, and the cufflinks are custom made.
Kevin from Grace wedding cars was on hand to transport Megan to the ceremony and then the newlyweds to Summat to Ate. I’ve worked with Kevin a handful of times over the years, and it’s always great to catch up.
Wigan DJ, Paul C was on hand to help the couple and their guests party into the night.
