When Spring Love Blossoms: The Wedding of Natasha and Nicolas at Merrydale Manor

Natasha and Nicolas’ wedding was a perfect day filled with love, laughter, and happy tears. They tied the knot on April 10, 2023, at the stunning Merrydale Manor. It was a beautiful Spring Day that started with a little rain that only added to the charm of the occasion. When it was time for the confetti, the heavens really opened up! But that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits – we still managed to get some great shots of the bridal party, even if it meant me getting a little wet!

Loch Earn Proposal

On the weekend of the bank holiday in August 2021, we stayed together in a cosy log cabin near Loch Earn in Scotland. Although there was no particular occasion, we wanted to spend some quality time together as we had been apart for a couple of weeks due to work commitments. On the first evening, we went for a hike up the hills by the loch and Nic planned it, so we reached the top just in time for the stunning sunset. To my complete surprise, he then got down on one knee and proposed! There were no other people around, only us and a couple of sheep, making it feel like a truly special moment. The breathtaking view of the lake and the beautiful sunset sky made it all seem like a dream.

An Easter Celebration

The couple chose the Easter holidays to make it easier for their family and friends to get time off work. They wanted to get married in Spring because it’s their favourite season, and they are both Spring babies. The wedding was classic, romantic, and elegant, with a subtle colour scheme of ivory/whites, blush, dusty pink, rose gold, and green foliage.

 

A-line, Ivory, sparkle

Natasha looked absolutely stunning in her ivory A-line gown with ivory and pewter lace flowers, off-the-shoulder straps, a layer of sparkle, and a very long train. Her dress was from A Bridal Story, and the dress was called Jasmine designed by Gaia Bridal. Nic wore a black tux from Moss Bros with a black bow tie and waistcoat.

Bridal Party and Travel

The bridesmaids wore rose gold shimmery maxi dresses (all the same style) from Ever Pretty, while the groomsmen wore Moss Bros tuxedos to match the groom. The couple travelled in style with a vintage gold and cream Bentley that belonged to their family member Hugh, who had brought it all the way up from Cornwall for their wedding!

The Perfect Florals

Ewer-Roberts Flowers provided the fresh flowers, which were abundant throughout the day, from the bridal bouquet (shower style, including David Austin roses, jasmine, and lily of the valley) to the bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony/top table flowers, floral centrepieces with storm lanterns and tapered candles, and a broken floral arch for the ceremony (then moved to frame the cake).

Favours and Cake

For their favours, the couple gave their guests little jars of Canadian maple syrup and Indian mango pickle to represent their two cultural backgrounds. They had a classic three-tier buttercream cake made by Beth at Cake O’Clock, decorated with fresh flowers from their florist and gold leaf/their initials N&N.

Beauty and the Food

Jenny Dold did Natasha’s hair, while Stephanie Swain took care of her makeup. The food and wine were provided by Barrett’s Event Caterers, with canapés during drinks reception with Kir Royale/Prosecco welcome drinks, three-course wedding breakfast, and a kebab stall for the evening reception.

Details

Natasha and Nicolas added several special touches to their wedding day, such as an informal concert before the evening reception, as music is important to them. They also had a makeup room for the girls and a Cave for the boys at Merrydale Manor, and the team was friendly, warm, and welcoming. The venue was exclusive and private, elegant, and sophisticated, yet, surprisingly intimate and cosy. Despite its grandeur, the venue managed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made guests feel right at home. The combination of luxurious decor and cosy seating arrangements created a perfect balance that added to the overall charm and elegance of the event.

Party Time

For their entertainment, Georgia Morse (cello) and George Fradley (piano) played for their ceremony, while Gypsyland Jazz (five-piece live band), also known as The String Beans, played at the wedding reception.
