Mandy and Dave; Their Story.

Planning your wedding is no easy task. From choosing your venue, your dress, the suits, who will be bridesmaids, best man, the cake, will it be chicken or beef, all way right down to the little details of which font will go onto the place cards for the table plan!

I like to send out a few questions to my brides and grooms about a month before the big day to get to know them a little and to find out which lovely suppliers they’ve asked to help make their day so special.

Mandy and Dave tied the knot at the picturesque Formby Hall Golf Club. A regular venue for me that I am always pleased to go back to and Mandy and Dave’s wedding was no different. The staff are so welcoming and friendly – along with the many ducks that live in and around all the ponds on the golf course.

A truly fabulous day, filled with so many happy moments, fun with lots and lots of laughter.

Here are the details of planning and suppliers that made their day so special.

Where and when did you get engaged?

Under the Christmas tree December 2017 – a complete surprise ! I usually get a spa voucher for Xmas but there was no card in my present bundle. Dave was acting abit strange and then he got up off the floor and then all of a sudden he gave me this envelope

Why did you choose your wedding date?

No significance – We wanted a date where we knew people wouldn’t be on their school holidays and it would not be too hot for our honeymoon

Why did you choose your venue?

It is a glamorous setting.

What is your wedding colour scheme?

No theme. I just want it to look feminine & pretty.

What is your wedding colour scheme? Why did you choose it?

Peach blush pink & cream flowers as they are summery & feminine. The bridesmaid are in navy dresses as I let my daughter choose the colour so I thought it would go nicely together

What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from?

I’ve got a fishtail lace dress to make most of my curves which is also quite sexy & feminine. I got it from The Wedding Rooms in Formby.

What has your partner chosen to wear and where from?

He has gone for a mid blue 3 piece suit with white shirt & navy tie. It was from Slaters in Liverpool.

How will you travel on the day? If the transport is hired, where is it from?

Staying at the venue.

What flowers have you chosen, if any? Who is providing them?

Faux Flowers are peach pink & cream. I bought them online

What flowers and decorations have you chosen for the wedding reception? Who is providing them or helping you?

Large birdcages in mirror plates with the same faux flowers as the wedding flowers with tea lights. I bought these online too

Are you giving out favours? If so, what?

Sort of – the place name cards are envelopes with a scratch card inside. I’ve also put some sweet cones out for a few children

What cake have you chosen? Who is making it?

It’s a 3 tier vanilla & rose flavoured sponge cake with Icing & faux flowers. I have also got a traditional fruit cake but this is just a cutting cake . My cousin Lesley has made it for me
