Planning your wedding is no easy task. From choosing your venue, your dress, the suits, who will be bridesmaids, best man, the cake, will it be chicken or beef, all way right down to the little details of which font will go onto the place cards for the table plan!

I like to send out a few questions to my brides and grooms about a month before the big day to get to know them a little and to find out which lovely suppliers they’ve asked to help make their day so special.

Lauren and Zak tied the knot at the historic and Beatles inspired hotel set in the hear of Liverpool city center. An absolutely stunning setting for Lauren and Zak’s intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. 

This was a day filled with so many happy moments, fun with lots and lots of laughter. Here are the details of planning and suppliers that made their day so special.

Where and when did you get engaged? 

We got engaged on June 22nd 2017 in the Peak district. Zak walked us up a mountain with our Beagle and proposed at the top.

Why did you choose your wedding date?

May is usually a nice month with good weather and my birthday is May 13th so we thought it would be a nice month for us.

Why did you choose your venue?

We chose our venue as we are having a small wedding and the hard days night had a lovely ceremony room perfect for a small wedding. It is also very central for guests to travel to.

Do you have a special “theme”/ style for your wedding? Why did you pick this theme/ style?

We just wanted everything to look quite simplistic as I don’t like too much fuss.

What is your wedding colour scheme?

Our colour scheme is grey and white, I don’t like bright colours so we went for something quite classic.

What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from? 

I went for a plain meghan markle style dress from wed2b to go with our simple, classic theme.

What has your partner chosen to wear?

He is wearing a blue suit from slaters and tan shoes with a grey tie.

What are your bridesmaids/ groomsmen going to wear and where from?

The groomsmen are wearing the same as the groom and the bridesmaids are wearing grey dresses from asos.

How will you travel on the day? If the transport is hired, where is it from?

We’re staying in the hotel the night before.

What flowers have you chosen, if any? Who is providing them?

I have chosen a wild flower bouquet made with white flowers from Norwegian Wood Florist.

What flowers and decorations have you chosen for the wedding reception? Who is providing them or helping you?

We have chosen centrepiece from a touch of elegance. They are very simple.

Are you giving out favours? If so, what?

Yes we are giving candles for the adults and sweet jars for the kids.

What cake have you chosen? Who is making it?

We have chosen a semi naked lemon and elderflower cake made by a family friend.

What food/ wines have you choose? Why?

We have chosen soup, chicken and chocolate tart as we believe that’s what most guests would like. Myself and Zak are vegetarians so will be having different.

What entertainment have you choose and who are they?

We have a pianist for the wedding ceremony and meal and a guitarist in the evening. The pianist is ed Alexander and the guitarist is Jim Gibbs.

What other “special touches” have you added to your day?

We have our two sons and nephew as page boys. We have a candy cart in the evening.
