After working together for quite some time at the hotel, it was evident to work colleagues that these two should be together. 4 years ago, Josh popped the question on Stockley Bridge in the Borrowdale area. It was a surprise to Steff, though as she said, “she should have realised something, as he never suggests taking the dog for a walk, particularly in the rain”.

Choosing the Glaramara hotel was never going to be in doubt, though due to covid, it was moved 4 times!

A lovely late autumn wedding with a rustic style with green and gold colours. Green is Steff’s favourite colour and they’re the colours of Australia.

A perfect Stella York gown from La Belle Boutique in Sutton-In-Ashfield was chosen. “It was the only dress that Steff didn’t was to take off, she would have come home in it!”

Slater Menswear provided the suits in grey with green waistcoats and ties.

The bridesmaids chose their own outfits, dresses, or jumpsuits in dark green.

Hair styling was by Debbie of Style Unique.

Steff’s sister took care of her make-up and even made a stunning 4-tier semi-naked cake of victoria, lemon drizzle, and white chocolate sponges.

White and green flowers focussed on Lilies as they are Steff’s favourite. They were by Evergreens of Keswick. Decorations are all rustic, handmade wreaths photos frames, and handcrafted glass art by Steff’s mum including some really nice favours of little glass pictures of the guests names on easels.

There was a fantastic band for the evening, The Singles Table. They aim to keep the dancefloor very busy, and that’s all I saw. Great entertainment.

After the wedding breakfast we had planned to go out in the car to Honister Pass for a few pictures in the dark, however, the weather wasn’t perfect for that, so I took them to Surprise View as I wanted to get up high. It was absolutely pitch black up there with lights shimmering in the distance. The sky looked very dark, though there was something just above the Keswick area. I knew with a long exposure the camera would bring out these details along with Derwent Water below. That’s exactly what it did, and wow, it didn’t disappoint. A large orange glow in the sky with the Lake below. A pop of flash on Steffi and Josh just to put them in the frame – Perfect!

Something a little different was the celebrant for the wedding. Kerrie of The Birds & The Bees, Celebrant Services was fantastic. An incredible job of writing and delivering the ceremony, and she managed to capture their personalities and relationship on point. The ceremony was absolutely perfect, light-hearted but still full of meaning and emotion. The attention to detail that Kerrie placed on Steff and Josh’s wedding was nothing short of superb – she even arrived in the same colour dress as the bridesmaids.
