A Gorgeous Formby Hall Spring Wedding
Lisa and John
Lisa and John’s Sunny Spring Wedding
A few days ago I shot the wedding of Lisa and John. The couple got married at Formby Hall Golf Club. This was not the first wedding I shot at Formby Hall and it hopefully won’t be the last, I am always thrilled to work there. I’m very lucky to be able to work at fantastic places like this as a wedding photographer.
Lisa and John travelled from London to marry in the North West and as normal I started with the bride, Lisa to photograph preparations. I really enjoy photographing bridal prep as it gives you a chance to get to know the bridal party a little better.
The ceremony was held at Formby Hall in a beautifully light and airy room. It was the perfect setting for Lisa and John to say their wedding vows and tie the knot.
The reception was a success and everyone had a smile on their face. There was a feeling of happiness and joy in the air as everyone enjoyed themselves. I photographed all the activities taking place at the reception.
I love photographing Spring weddings as the scenery can be spectacular. Lisa and John were lucky to have a sunny day (if a little chilly), which was a blessing, and meant we could all spend some time outdoors.
The speeches began after the guests were served with the wedding breakfast. Some great reactions are photographed whilst the speeches are being delivered. Once the evening began the guests had a great time dancing to the tunes. What a way to end the day.
Lisa and John really know how to create a fantastic wedding and it was a joy to share it with them.
Now here is their story and details of planning and suppliers that made their day so special.
Where and when did you get engaged? Tell me what happened?
I was 9 months pregnant and John said he wanted to put together something for me and the baby. It was 22nd December 2017, he blindfolded me and walked me into the living room. When he took the blind fold off the table was decorated with fairy lights and roses and individual rose filled letters saying Lisa marry me X John was on one kneed with a rose in his mouth and holding the ring….I was totally blown away….baby nearly came early lol!
Why did you choose your wedding date?
Because it’s spring time and cheaper than getting married in the summer lol
Why did you choose your venue?
John is from Preston, my dad was from Birkenhead and as we live down south we thought it’d be nice to get married up north. Also John loves golf hence Formby!! But compared to other golf clubs it’s very relaxed and we know our guests will feel comfortable there.
Do you have a special “theme”/ style for your wedding? Why did you pick this theme/ style?
Our invites are skeleton man and wife ‘till death do us part’ and our cake has this theme too…we like the art work related to day of the dead. Otherwise our colour scheme is black and white with a touch of blush pink and blue….just like those colours!
What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from? Why did you choose it?
What has your partner chosen to wear?
The Grooms Room in Southport
