Natalie and Phil’s Story

Natalie and Phil’s wedding from the ever-awesome Broadoaks Country House Hotel.
Phil had gone to great trouble to arrange a proposal at Alnwick Gardens during Christmas but that didn’t happen…… here’s the story…..

Phil got in from work and rushed straight to his office to put his work laptop away and hide the ring (he had all these plans to propose at Alnwick gardens at Christmas) me and Ava followed him upstairs and was waiting for him to come out. I went to do something and came back, and Phil and Ava were grinning at each other and obviously keeping a secret. I asked what’s going on thinking Ava had done something that I wasn’t going to like ha-ha. Phil told me nothing, nothing. I didn’t believe him and said you’re going to have to tell me what’s she done? He said give me two seconds and ran off. He walks in with a giant box from goldsmiths and hands it to me, so I open the first box. He snatched the second box and bent down on one knee and asked. All he got out of me was, are you joking for a few minutes until he said you haven’t actually answered ha-ha.

They chose the two-night exclusive use of Broadoaks which is such a fantastic way of having your destination wedding (as many do in the Lakes). They’d booked to see a few places they’d seen from Brochures but as soon as they saw Broadoaks they loved it. It was perfect.

Natalie chose to have a small rustic wedding which included mauve purple, blush rose, with greenery. All well matched and complimented the venue nicely.

Natalie visited Simply Wed Bridal with her Mam and picked the perfect fitted lace dress – she loved it from the moment she tried it on.

As usual, Purple Swan decorated the rooms throughout. The orangery looked amazing with the decorations up. Antique roses in jars on a wooden slice with tea lights. Also draped around the orangery were fairy lights.

Amy Brown took care of makeup and family friend and guest; Kerry did the hair for Natalie and quite a few other guests.

Enjoy,
Paul
