Laura and Macauley’s Wedding at Laura Ashley Belsfield Hotel
Laura and Macauley tied the knot in a romantic and intimate ceremony at the Laura Ashley Belsfield Hotel, located in Bowness on Windermere. The couple chose the venue for its picturesque location by the lake and stunning views of the mountains. The ceremony took place in the breakfast room overlooking the water, which created the perfect backdrop for their special day. The happy couple exchanged vows and rings in front of their closest friends and family members.
Although the weather was mostly favorable, there were occasional spells of rain that forced the guests to go inside for the family and group photos. However, that did not dampen the spirits of the couple or their guests, who all had a wonderful time at the wedding.
An Old Man Proposal
When asked about their engagement, Laura and Macauley revealed that they got engaged on 15/04/2021 in the Lake District on the top of the old man of Coniston. It was their first trip out of lockdown, and they had booked a week away with some friends who joined them a few days later. They climbed the mountain together, with Macauley proposing at the summit. The moment was magical, and Laura was thrilled to say yes to the love of her life.
Laura and Macauley had chosen to get married in April, as they had lovely weather, and it was the perfect time for a spring wedding. They waited two years before tying the knot so that Laura could graduate, and they could buy a house. The Belsfield Hotel ticked all the right boxes for them, as it was located in a picturesque area with plenty of accommodation options for their guests.
Laura’s dress carried the boho floral theme, and she chose it from Boutique Brides of Crosby. It was light and had a lovely floral train, perfectly complementing the wedding’s overall aesthetic. Macauley wore a blue checked three-piece suit from Slater Menswear, with ties and pocket squares that matched the bridesmaid dresses. The groomsmen had matching suits to Macauley, while the bridesmaids wore a mix of styles in cabernet color from JJ House.
Rustic or Boho?
The couple chose a rustic/boho style for their wedding breakfast and flowers, as they both loved nature and bohemian aesthetics. The wedding color palette consisted of a mix of dark wine and light spring colors, creating a beautiful contrast that was perfect for their spring wedding.
For their wedding flowers, Laura and Macauley opted for a mix of dark and light flowers with various kinds of foliage. The flowers and decorations were provided by Flowers with Passion, and they created a beautiful setting for the couple’s special day.
The hair was done by Bethan, and the makeup by Ora, both of whom did an excellent job of making the bride and her bridesmaids look their best.
Party Time
Finally, the couple chose a band called Elevate, which had a rock-themed sound, for the music in the evening. The music added to the festive atmosphere, and the guests danced the night away, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Laura and Macauley’s wedding at the Laura Ashley Belsfield Hotel was a beautiful affair, with stunning scenery and a lovely atmosphere. The couple’s choice of venue, colour palette, and aesthetics all came together to create a romantic and intimate setting for their special day. The bride and groom looked stunning, and their guests had a wonderful time celebrating their union. I wish Laura and Macauley all the best as they begin their journey as a married couple….. and maybe a baby or two…..
