Trish and Danny’s Windy Winter / Sunny Spring Wedding
Spending the day with Trisha and Danny for their wedding was an absolutely amazing day. A laugh a minute from getting ready with the girls all the way until well into the evening.
Ashfield House in Standish is a historic place that is perfect for weddings, infact, it’s exclusive – “Their house is your house”.
It was such fun to photograph a wedding at Ashfield House, and I love working at places with a fresh perspective. Being a wedding photographer it offers lovely opportunities to work with awesome couples like Trish and Danny in spectacular locations like this one.
I always start the day by photographing the bride getting ready. Trisha began her preparations in the sitting room – a room dedicated for bridal prep. As Trisha and her girls prepared for the day it was a lively way to begin the story. I don’t remember a minute without laughter – okay, maybe when the florist brought in the bouquet and when Trisha’s 3 boys came in to see her ready and escort her down it was a little more emotional.
Whilst the girls were having fun, Danny and the guys arrived in a couple of super cars. A Ferrari and a McLaren no less.
Ashfield House was an unbelievable place to photograph all the moments of Trisha and Danny’s wedding ceremony.
After a perfect ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a lovely reception in the House. The drinks flowed freely as the guests got into full celebration mode. I walked around for a while capturing the emotion and fun the guests had as they relaxed and talked.
Winter turning into spring weddings are always marvellous to photograph and I made sure to make the most of the venue during the portraits inspite of the wind and cold. We even had rain and hail later – it gave me an opportunity to get the umbrella out.
Trisha and Danny treated their guests with a fabulous wedding breakfast right before the speeches. During the speeches a little game was in play. Trays of shots being on each table and if a key word was said during one of the speeches one guest from the table had to drink a shot.
Once the evening began, the guests had a fun time dancing to the music by the DJ Steve from DFC Lancashire and Art from DFC.Sax.
What a way to end the day.
I knew it was going to be an amazing wedding when Trisha and Danny booked me to photograph it and I wish them heartfelt congratulations and……. can we do it again…….
