A Pretty Summer Mitton Hall Wedding

Planning your wedding is no easy task. From choosing your venue, your dress, the suits, who will be bridesmaids, best man, the cake, will it be chicken or beef, all way right down to the little details of which font will go onto the place cards for the table plan!
I like to send out a few questions to my brides and grooms about a month before the big day to get to know them a little and to find out which lovely suppliers they’ve asked to help make their day so special.
Emily and Adam tied the knot at the fabulous Mitton Hall set in the beautiful Ribble Valley. An absolutely stunning venue both inside and out for any wedding on any day come rain or shine.
This was a day filled with so many happy moments, fun with lots and lots of laughter.
A special thanks goes to Jen and her team at Mitton Hall. I’ve shot at Mitton quite a few times over the years and the service is always amazing.

Where and when did you get engaged?
We got engaged in Edinburgh on the 9th December 2017.
Why did you choose your wedding date?
Because it’s in the summer
Why did you choose your venue?
Because it’s stunning and it was a wow as I pulled up on the car park
Do you have a special “theme”/ style for your wedding? Why did you pick this theme/ style?
I would say the theme is vintage glam and I just love the style
What is your wedding colour scheme?
Blush/taupe/grey The colours look great together and they are classic
What sort of dress/outfit did you choose and where from? Why did you choose it?
My dress is from a shop called ‘one fine day’ and it’s a princess style dress
What has your partner chosen to wear?
He’s wearing a grey suit from slaters
What are your bridesmaids/ groomsmen going to wear and where from?
All groomsmen wearing the same suit from slaters. Bridesmaids wearing all different dresses from a brand called maya
How will you travel on the day? If the transport is hired, where is it from?
I will be going in my own car. Adam is going in a truck cab with his best man. Borrowed form work.
What flowers have you chosen, if any? Who is providing them?
I have chosen lots of foliage, eucalyptus/Ruscus with peonies. Provided by a local shop, ‘the window box’
What flowers and decorations have you chosen for the wedding reception? Who is providing them or helping you?
Floral center pieces and floating candles, floral arch way.
Are you giving out favours? If so, what?
Personalized love hearts
What cake have you chosen? Who is making it?
It’s a 4 tier cake, different flavors with a floral arrangement on it.
Who have you chosen for beauty (Makeup and Hair)
Hair- Charlotte Wardle, Make up – Leanne Jackson
What food/ wines have you choose? Why?
3 course sit down meal, Soup duck Crab Then… chicken Salmon Dahl Then… Sticky toffee pudding Creme brûlée
What entertainment have you chosen?
A wedding singer called Dave Massam, a caricaturist and a pianist.
What other “special touches” have you added to your day?

As someone who loves photographs, we wanted a wedding photographer who could create a journey of the whole day, someone who didn’t mind taking lots and lots of pictures.
Paul completely understood what we wanted when we met with him and couldn’t have done a more beautiful job of taking our wedding photographs in August 2019.
Paul’s previous experience at our wedding venue, Mitton Hall, allowed us to feel comfortable and confident that our photographs would be amazing.
